Education and Formal Training: As an owner, developer, builder, salesperson and analyst, Alston has dealt with many aspects of the real estate world. He has lived a good part of his life on farms and ranches, so he understands the special qualities of rural land. He's our specialist in investment property, having designed a number of templates for valuing real estate for buyers and sellers on the basis of income, IRR, etc. He’s fluent in Spanish, serving since 1991 with MEDICO as an interpreter for medical teams in remote parts of Central America. He also speaks French, though not as fluently as Spanish. As the former Economic Director of a financial advisory company, his knowledge of the economy is often extremely valuable in real estate. He prepares and updates economic charts and reports for the benefit of our clients, including a newsletter on the Austin real estate market and reports in English and Spanish on our national economy. He also prepares charts on US ECONOMIC DATA that can keep you in touch with the most recent developments in our constantly changing economy, and he just recently had added a blog. As a Broker, his goal is to provide guidance to our agents and provide you with an in depth knowledge base. With a thorough and up to date understanding of the local, regional, and national Real Estate Market, you’ll be advised and led through the process by an expert dedicated to providing you with the best care and the utmost respect for your current situation. Alston is the National Association of Realtors President's Liaison to Central America and the Vice-Chairman of the International Committee of the Texas Association of Realtors for 2011. The TAR has a very close relationship with AMPI, the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals.

Education and Formal Training include: Barbara’s ancestors came to Austin in the late 1850s. Her father Col. J.E. Roberts had a passion for real estate, so it runs in her blood. She knows all of Central Texas better than almost anyone. She grew up in Tarrytown, attended UT-Austin, earning a BFA in art, and an MFA from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. She taught at Texas State University, then married and raised her family in West Lake Hills with her husband, then a prominent Austin developer. She was a founding member and the first director of the Umlauf Sculpture Garden from 1988 to 1991, and became licensed by the Texas Real Estate Commission as a Salesperson in 1992. She specializes in relocation, equestrian properties, residential properties, farm & ranch, and luxury properties. If you are looking to buy or sell equestrian properties, Barbara is THE Austin and Hill Country expert. Barbara comes from a family of horse ranchers and has been riding since age four. Over the years she has competed in many different equestrian disciplines, most recently in Dressage at the level of Prix St. George. Barbara’s experience, network, passion for real estate, artistic eye, and marketing savvy make her the best choice in promoting your real estate, or finding the perfect property.
